Furst Blog; Twilight Series: Plot Hole

          Okay so... basically I stumbled upon a very interesting plot hole in the whole Twilight series. Instead of you guyz asking me questions about the book, I'm going to ask quite a few questions and I would appreciate if anyone could give me the answer to this MAJOR plot hole.

      The plot of the first twilight book is mainly, high school Romance <3, right? Well when Bella meets Edward, they fall and start kissing and making out, and "ooh I can't read your mind, please tell me what you're thinking aboot" (Yes, Aboot) Anyways Edward tells Bella "Say it, Say it out loud" and she says "a mermaid" and then he tells her that he's been 17 for a long time. Here's the question;

If Edward has been going to high school ALL his undead Life, wouldn't anyone notice that he has been going to the same school for, oh let's say, 23 years? And if infact no one noticed, wouldn't the school have records of all his past attendances?
